After a six month hiatus, Virginia Wine Chat returns on Thursday, October 1 for a special Virginia Wine Month edition!
In 2013, long before virtual tastings became ubiquitous, I started Virginia Wine Chat, a virtual monthly tasting series connecting notable local winemakers with online media.
In March, as Governor Northam issued a shelter in place order as a result of the COVID pandemic, I hosted a series ten virtual chats to help local winemakers stay connected with consumers.
Winemakers quickly gained their technology footing and started hosting their own virtual tastings so I took a much-needed break (these are more time consuming to organize and host than observers may think).
The volume of virtual tastings has slowed and the weather is now cool enough to safely ship wine so we’re brining back the monthly chats.
On Thursday, October 1 (6:30pm eastern), we’ll chat with winemakers from each major region across Virginia.
We’ll talk with the following winemakers while tasting one of their wines:
- Nate & Sarah Walsh, Walsh Family 2018 Petit Manseng (order here)
- Dr. Sudha Patil, Narmada MOM White Blend (order here)
- Kirsty Harmon, Blenheim 2018 Cab Franc (order here)
- Matthew Meyer, Williamsburg Winery 2017 Petit Verdot (order here)
Join us by ordering one of these bottles or pull the cork on any bottle of Virginia wine and join us on Thursday, October 1 at 6:30pm eastern time.
