Haak Blanc du Bois 2006 (Semi Sweet)

During my trip to Fort Worth, I had dinner a friend’s home and he happened to have this Haak Blanc du Bois in his cellar (i.e. – refrigerator).  Haak is based in Santa Fe, Texas in Galveston County.  On the nose the ‘sweetness’ jumped out of the glass – reminded me of apricot syrup.  I also picked up some over ripe peach components as well as hints of grapefruit.  This wine had a soft yet weighty mouthfeel and was filled with apricot/peach syrup.   Too sweet for me, but I can see where this would be popular with the masses given the fruit and sweetness profile.
